1999-davao gateway to the country's food basket
The DCCCII initiates
DATE, the first
large agriculture
event in Mindanao,
which brought
together sectors of
livestock,
horticulture,
fishery, food
processing, agri
by-products, and
agri-industrial from
all over the
country. DATE was
conducted in support
of the
administration's
thrust to make
Mindanao the
country's food
basket.

2000- Agriculture in Mindanao, a National Interest
The success of the first DATE paved the way to a second DATE showcasing most of Mindanao’s agricultural products. The Department of Agriculture has acknowledged DATE as the major annual agriculture exhibit in Mindanao. Business matching, plant visits, investment opportunities, briefings and forum on joint venture were highlighted among others.

Place
DATE showcases the
competency and

Davao resources to
the world. DATE was
repackaged, to
intensify the
participation among
exhibitors,
extending it from
corporate showcases
to Embassy Pavilions

Embassy, with 9
participating
companies. A US
Catalogue Show and a
Seminar on How to Do
Business in US,
presented by
Commercial Trade
Attaché himself, Mr.
Brent Omdahl, was
also organized.

2006 –
Davao Goes Global
Progressing from the
previous year’s path
towards global
competitiveness,
DATE took further
steps to respond to
the call for
globalization, in
order to enhance and
develop the Davao
Region’s business
climate. DATE
featured the maximum
participation of
government agencies
such as DTI, DA, and
DOST. Each has its
own pavilion, such
as One Town One
Product (OTOP),
Mindanao Agri-Products
Cluster, and the
Small Enterprises
Technology Upgrading
Program (SETUP),
respectively. A
One-Stop shop for
the business support
services was also
launched, the NERBAC
(National Economic
Research and
Business Assistance
Center (NERBAC) of
DTI. Government
services were pooled
in to one center to
provide single entry
point for investors.
Moreover, Davao
Forum on Investment
and Trade (DFIT) was
conducted to promote
opportunities within
the 8 champion
industry clusters of
the region. The
keynote speaker was
DTI Undersecretary
for regional
Operations Group,
Carissa
Cruz-Evangelista.

2007 –
Invest in Davao: Gateway to
BIMP-EAGA
This year’s theme
rides on the crest
of the BIMP-EAGA
Conference held in
the city. This is a
manifestation of the
Chamber’s thrust to
promote Davao as an
investment
destination gateway.
As has been in the
past, US Embassy
once again conducted
the US Catalog Show
and showcased a US
Pavilion. DTI yet
again collaborated
with DATE to
showcase the 12
Champion Industry
Clusters of the
region (Mango,
Banana, Coconut,
Wood, Eco-Tourism,
ICT, Seaweeds,
Mining,Bio-fuels,
Agri-Machinery,
Poultry & Livestock
and Allied Services)
along with some of
the key LGUs in the
region like CARAGA,
Davao Del Norte and
Davao Oriental.
Also, Investment &
Technology Forum,
the Taiwanese
Business Matching,
and the simultaneous
conduct of MICT
congress were among
the highlights.
